Southern Enduro Champs
The 3rd round of the Southern Enduro, encompassing the National Enduro Series took place on 9th & 10th August at Minehead.
Six riders took on the challenging 25km route with1300m elevation gain. The 8 stages - one having an impressive 270m descent, were a mix of loamy switchbacks, steep rock gardens and gnarly roots.
After a practice day in 25c heat, the team woke to glorious sunshine - making for a hot and dry race day.
Nor Holden just missed a podium, coming in 4th.
U18 category saw Jim Hamon, come an impressive 16th in a strong field of national riders. Top Guernsey rider John Mapley coming in 15th in the masters category.
Dan Thwaite, Dan Hamon & Pete Miller took on the veteran category. Pete Miller completed the race despite sustaining an injury at the previous race in June.
