Adventure Cycles Gravity Series Round 2 Enduro results

Wed, 16 Apr 2025, 09:06

The second Gravity Series event organised by Guernsey Velo Club and sponsored by Adventure Cycles, took place at Pleinmont, attracting 25 riders eager to compete in an enduro race format set over three timed stages. The event showcased meticulously designed tracks that incorporated a variety of challenging features, including snarly roots, off camber sections, tight turns, and drop offs, all situated within the picturesque pine forest. These elements provided an exciting backdrop for the competition, testing the riders' skills and technical abilities.

As the event unfolded, John Mapley - back from three months in New Zealand, quickly returned to winning ways taking the victory in the advanced category. He was closely followed by Mark De La Mare and Joe Holden, who claimed 2nd and 3rd places respectively.

In the Veteran class, Peter Miller showcased his skills, securing the win with a strong performance. Mark Le Page took seniors honours.

Frankie Middleton took the honors in the ladies category, demonstrating her talent and determination on the course.

Academy rider Zach Smith used the enduro event to fine-tune his MTB skills, achieving an impressive win in his category and finishing 5th overall.

Ines Rocha stood out as the top Junior female, tackling the course with courage and determination with Harry Manning taking a fine win in the juvenile class, finishing just outside the top ten.

The well-designed tracks not only presented a technical challenge but also provided a stunning backdrop for yet another great event.

The next scheduled event will be held on the 18 May 2025, continuing to promote and grow the sport in our Island.
